4217.8 MILES: New Mexico is depressing. At least this part is… Trailer-box homes surrounded by broken down cars… Then, nothing. Flats meeting flats punctuated by towering stone outcroppings. Beautiful at times, but mostly inhospitable.

4122.4 MILES: Stella’s contribution to our itinerary, this is where four states connect. We were so overcome with the pagentry and excitement that I forgot to snap a shot on the Treo. I will post one from the Nikon when we get home to Texas.
